Maailmanvaihto &#8211; ICYE Finland is looking for a host family for her. Interested in having cultural exchange in your home?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Chi-Roh is coming in August to volunteer at Kirsikoti for one year. The meaning of the volunteering period is to create understanding between different cultures through daily grassroot co-operation.<\/p>\n<p>We are are currently looking for a host family for Chi-Roh. Hosting a young volunteer is a voluntary activity that offers a great opportunity to be of help, gain international experience at home, strengthen language skills, and view one&#8217;s own environment from a new perspective. We are looking for a host family for a period of one year <strong>(8\/2022\u20138\/2023)<\/strong>. Shorter periods are possible too if needed.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Chi-Roh<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-27221 aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/CHI-ROH-resized-169x300.jpg\" alt=\"Kuva vapaaehtoisesta\" width=\"100\" height=\"178\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Hey, I&#8217;m Chi-Roh<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>I come from Taiwan. I&#8217;m 20 years old.<\/li>\n<li>I speak english and taiwanese.<\/li>\n<li>My personality is relatively slow, quiet and shy, but I will become more lively with time. In my free time, I usually play video games or read manga. I like listening to music and drawing too.<\/li>\n<li>In volunteering I want to learn Finnish language and Finnish customs!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Who can become a host family? Anyone who is interested in getting to know a new person and their cultural background as well as sharing their daily living with a new family member! The family provides the volunteer with accommodation and daily meals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Established in 1958, Maailmanvaihto \u2013 ICYE Finland<\/strong> works for advancing intercultural understanding, equality, and peace. Maailmanvaihto sends and receives volunteers for long-term (6\u201312 months) volunteering. It was a privilege to get to be a part of the life of this young person and to support them on the edge of becoming an adult, give courage for new adventures!&#8221; \u2013\u00a0 Salla Finlow-Bates<\/p>\n<h2>How do the coronavirus times affect host family activities?<\/h2>\n<p>The safety of the volunteers and host families is of primary importance to us. We will inform the volunteers about the recommendations and restrictions related to the coronavirus situation in Finland prior to their arrival in Finland as well as during their volunteering period.<\/p>\n<p>We will encourage the host families and volunteers to agree at the beginning of sharing a home about the practices related to the coronavirus situation. In addition, we will instruct the volunteers and their workplaces to discuss the practices of the workplace. The volunteers will follow the possible remote work recommendations of the workplace.
