In Ghana, you can volunteer at a kindergarten or a primary or secondary school. In addition, volunteer work is carried out, for example, in centres that provide various forms of rehabilitation services for people with disabilities. Volunteer placements are located in places such as Accra and Kumasi. Volunteers either stay with host families or live on site at their volunteer placement.

In Kenya, volunteers can get involved in activities such as those run by local schools or healthcare services. One example is St Julian Ugari Secondary School, where volunteers take part in the school’s day-to-day activities as well as planting trees and selling saplings within the community. Volunteers stay either on site or in host families.

In Mozambique, cooperation takes place in areas such as arts education projects and a support organisation for people living with HIV. In addition, volunteers support the work of the local ICYE organisation. Volunteers usually stay with host families.

In Nigeria, volunteering takes place in kindergartens and schools. Volunteers are also welcomed by organisations such as those supporting the visually impaired. Volunteers usually stay with host families, or in some cases at their voluntary workplace.

In Tanzania, you can get involved in activities such as supporting children and young people or improving the status of women. Organisations working to promote health and support people with disabilities, amongst others, also welcome volunteers.
Tasks may include, for example, leading activities for young people, supporting teaching and childcare, helping with rehabilitation, or organising sports and other activities. You may also be asked to carry out communication or administrative tasks.
