12th Jan: Intercultural evening: Georgia

Would you like to get to know Georgia’s culture and society? Take part on Thursday 12th January 2023, from 6–8 p.m. in the Georgian intercultural evening organized by Allianssi Youth Exchange and the youth exchange organization Maailmanvaihto – ICYE Finland!

We will learn about the fascinating culture of Georgia from Mariam, who is a European Solidarity Corps volunteer from Georgia at Maailmanvaihto. Mariam will tell about local living in Georgia, besides which we will get to taste vegan Georgian dishes together, learn a bit of Georgian alphabet, and try out a few steps of Georgian style dancing.

In addition, Lotta and Aura will share their experiences on participating in a youth exchange in Georgia, and Allianssi Youth Exchanges team will tell about the next European Solidarity Corps volunteer team that will be organized in Georgia next summer, for which the application period opens during mid-January. Mariam will share info on long-term European solidarity Corps volunteering, to which she herself participates in Finland.

The event will be held in English and is open to anyone who would like to learn more about Georgia and about international possibilities. The intercultural evening will be held at Allianssi-Talo (Asemapäällikönkatu 1, Helsinki) and the event is free of charge. We will follow at the event Maailmanvaihto’s safer space principles.
